Accenture Career Options for Veterans

Accenture is an all-purpose “professional services” company. So as far as Accenture career options for veterans, their options are pretty varied:

  • Strategy consulting
  • Digital marketing and analytics
  • Software implementation and delivery
  • Operations consulting

Just to touch on a few parts of their business.

A good place to start your review of any compnay is Glassdoor, and there Accenture is rated 3.9 stars, and 80% of current employees would recommend working there to a friend. That’s not bad.

Ok, but what does Accenture offer career-wise for veterans?

Accenture Careers for Junior Military Officers

First, this thing needs a name change because you do NOT have to be a Junior Military Officer (JMO) to access this program. They require a bachelor’s degree- that’s it. So if you already have one, don’t sweat it if you weren’t an officer.

Sometimes that whole just gets super annoying.

All that aside, this program is a recruitment pathway for junior military leaders to enter Accenture. And here I should specify that they do mean “junior”. They want people with 3–7 years of military experience. This is a good sweet spot for companies, as you are still relatively young and they have more room to prepare you for a longer career.

If you fall into a more senior category, this doesn’t mean they don’t want you at all. Accenture still has career options for more experienced veterans. You may also want to check out Johnson and Johnson’s Experienced Military Veteran Leadership Development Program (EMVLDP) .

The good news for the program is that the recruiting team is specifically for military veterans and spouses, and so they are more in-tune with the unique background and experiences that veterans have. They also pair you with a mentor who can be a good sounding board for navigating life in the company.

Accenture Veteran Technology Training Program

Ok, maybe the business-side isn’t your cup of tea. Maybe you are more intersted in tech and software. This program may be what you are looking for.

If you are accepted, you will start a two-month training program to give you the skills to be an Entry Level Software Engineering Associate with Accenture. The program does not guarantee you a job, only the training and an interview.

The training will be done through Udacity, one of the biggest names out there in online learning. You will enroll in the Intro to Java Programming course and receive a Verified Certificate at the end.

Student Veteran Opportunities

I’ll be honest- I really couldn’t find any details on this program other than the fact that it exists. But if you are an undergraduate student or pursuing an MBA (for details on the Military to MBA pathway, start here), Accenture apparently has internship opportunities specifically for student veterans.

Just because I like to go the extra mile for you all, I signed up at their website and got enrolled in their newsletter, which says that it will update me as internships become available.
